cute kid! Framing is way too tight on these for my tastes. #1 is almost doable framing wise, but # 2 (cutting both forehead and mouth???) is not good! #1 flash is very harsh also..

catch light in the kids eye is a window charlie...geeez lol right eye (models right) is in focus and you can zoom in and see the shooter a bit and the window, left eye not in focus to see detail of the lighting.

Really? Well achieving that high contrast with window light is more difficult, but you succeeded!

I notice you did not comment on the framing????

I've never seen a mouth cropped off like that, that's kinda odd indeed.

To be honest, with the terrible framing issues... I did not bother zooming in, Ernicus! Normally I don't even bother commenting on shots like this. At least I offered advice to the OP...

Here's a quick edit, thought maybe a tighter crop would work a bit better, 4:5 ratio and a bit of adjusting.

I am learning, and enjoying every shot I take the good and the bad
I could have sat back and congratulated myself on every pic I take, create a business card , promote myself in facebook as a professional, but I am not that stupid, you will note that the pics I take aren't watermarked or have a sig anywhere on them.... I am learning getting better but still learning....in a year or three there might be a sig...

I agree the framing sucked... and yes you can see me in his eyes but they were little mirrors and I would have to be further away from him I think not to show up in his eyes...but you don't learn if you don't have the guts to place the pics here in the forum and get the lovely criticisms that they will draw.. I only submitted the second one because I love his eyes....
but happily his mom loved the first one and I shot him again.. is this framed better?

Since none of his face is cut off, it is much better. But since Che is a vertical subject, a vertical format might be better... since the wall is not really adding to the shot:

I like it ... it brings the focus onto him...
