I'm quite keen to practice some macro shots, but I genuinely can't afford to splash out on any macro lenses at the moment (unless someone can't find me something decent for less than £100!).

As such I've been browsing on ebay and found these spacer lenses.

Do they work? Are they any good?

Of course they aren't going to be a suitable substitute for a proper macro lens, but they are cheap and was wondering if they could do the job temporarily.

I have a macro lens, it wasn't that pricey. Sigma 50mm 2.8 macro - $250. It works great. I also use it as a portrait lens also as it is pretty sharp.

I wonder will these work with a macro lens to go super macro?

By the way I have a nikon d70 (i know it's time to upgrade. :)

Well, bought the mag lenses. £15 inc delivery. Can't complain.

Here are the results using a pin. Very rough test shots but just so you can get an idea of how they come out:

Not bad at all imo considering the price.
