Cheating on cheetahs

Some cheetah shots from the Namibian bush.

This one was taken right before it spotted me, all I had to defend myself with was my trusty Nikon.

Actually these were really taken at the Cheetah Conservation Fund center near Otjiwarongo (which IS in the bush). The cheetahs were being exercised and these shots were taken through a chain link fence. They were chasing a lure (like greyhounds) and the lure was easily cloned out.

I learned never to totally trust the stories of wildlife photographers with egos!

Nice set. I had the opportunity to photograph an exercise session in January. They went to great lengths to explain how fast these guys are, but failed to mention they go fast instantly. Totally missed the first Pass!
