I wish she was in focus, rather than the pumpkin. Also, I feel like she's too small in the frame. I wish there was more of her and less of the pumpkin, because as it stands, the pumpkin is the focal point. Excellent b/w processing though.

She is a little soft, but then so is the pumpkin. I rather like the fact that the pumpkin seems bigger than the child - brings a smile, really! Some clutter on the right side that should probably have been moved out of the frame.

Overall though, it's a sweet portrait.

In a close-in situation like this, with shallow DOF due to ambient light, you have to decide where to put the majority of the DOF...on the girl's face? Or on the pumpkin? In this case, you've got mostly the pumpkin and her hand and the marking pen in focus, and her face is a bit soft--I think that way the RIGHT decision, all the way. She's cute, and as terri mentioned, her being so small in relation to the punkin' does bring a smile!
