China bought lenses

I have a local guy selling 3 Nikon lenses, Nikon 70-200mm VRII (bought locally), Nikon 80-200mm AF-D (two ring bought in China), Nikon 85mm f1.8 (bought in China). I want to pick up that 80-200mm but the bought in China is really worrying me. My thinking is that those can't easily be faked. His prices are pretty much on par with similar used gear bought locally. Of course i will be able to meet in person but just wondering how easy they are to knock off.

Lens are hard to fake though.

I have not heard a fake lens so far. And I do agree it is hard to fake since they need to fake the electronic part as well as the optical part. So if you test the lens and everything seems to be fine in terms of operational and optical performance, I am not too worry about it.
