Breaking a rather long drought (sorry Chase, had to end sometime)...

Took this over the weekend. Carol's Aunt & Uncle live in a 80+ year-old house complete with 80 acres covered in old buildings including several shops and a dairy barn (now retired).

I didn't have a lot of time because of the wedding, but I did manage to sneak down to the barn and shoot this.

As I was walking up the steps to the hayloft I saw a flash out of the corner of my eye. It was momma bird delivering chow. There was a hole in the wall next to the stairs that I could shoot through.

The nest is attached to the side of a floor joist for the loft. Available light was from underneath (what little there was). Shot taken at about 6-7 feet using the flash.

I knocked on the joist to wake them up. They weren't actually making any noise, just waiting for something to eat.

Wow, great shot!

Talk about being in the right place at the right time...and keeping your eyes open for things.

Well done as always :)

Excellent shot. What are they? Swalllows? Housemartins? Swifts?

Thanks all, I luck into way more good ones than I ever plan.

Darren, swallows I think. I was too busy ducking Momma dive bombing me when I tried to get closer to notice for sure.
