This is a very appealing image. Good subject, well placed in the frame. Interesting stuff without being too busy.

I don't think the paper negative damages the image at all, but I am also not convinced that it adds much. It's possible that it tones down the busyness of the trees and rocks in the middle of the frame, which comes out looking very nice here but might be overly busy without the texture. The texture does something for the overall feel, somehow, but I don't know if it's good, bad, or just a little different. It does lend a sort of painterly feel, which is certainly pleasant, I think.

I think my only complaint here is that the image is so darn "nice" - it doesn't challenge or disturb or puzzle me at all. It's a fine piece of decorative work, and if that's what you wanted, fantastic, you nailed it! If you wanted something a little challenging, I think this falls short of that.
