First time seeing one in the backyard. It was trying to fly, but the cargo was too heavy. It was jump flying about an inch at a time or walking up the patio chair. Quincy saw it first and glad he back away.

Have seen a variety of large solitary wasp hereabouts--beautiful iridescent blue-- who hunts down fairly big insect game for her kids. Harmless. Known as "Mrs.Wasp" to my crew. Pix buried somewhere.

I read an article about these last week andvwas gonna ask if anyone had seem them, if there not going to be eaten straight away they lay eggses on'em and then take them to there burrow and close up the entrance so there entombed alive.

Larvae hatch and eat him alive😱.
