close encounter

I don't usually manage to get that close to cormorants...they're usually in an unapproachable spot. This one by the Thames in Reading was a rare encounter, right by a footpath too. Urban wildlife does tend to be a bit less bothered by us humans, I've found. Panasonic G9 with Panasonic 100-300mm lens.

Thanks, yes, they do that....not having oils in their plumage they hang them out to dry after a fishing trip. image tweaked a bit in Affinity Photo.

Nice shot! They're kind of like Anhinga's, they always have their wings spread out like that when they perch.
