a neon jungle, how cool!

Since you were shooting into a somewhat darker area of the inside of the log you might have wanted to adjust your exposure a little so that part of the photo might have shown up a little better. The blue flowers are a bit of a distraction because it just adds a little bit of color but you can't really see that well what exactly it is.

When you see something interesting like this do you stop and take more than one picture? This might have been interesting if you took a half step back to include a little more foliage, or tried in even closer, or tried changing your vantage point a little to see what you get in your frame (the large leaf lower left seems a bit in the way). Or a vertical shot might have been interesting too (depending on what else was there).

Just took a look at your FB page (mostly to see if you were a student because I thought you might be), you seem to be seeing interesting photos in what's around you. I don't know if you ever studied art or composition but if you did it might be worthwhile, to learn about balance, using pattern, texture, shape etc. in your photos. If you just picked up a camera recently then you must have an eye for this. Hope you keep enjoying it.
