yeah i agree, the poles are distracting but nice shot on the go though

And you could not have stopped at ANY other spot on the way? I'm not sure you chose the best one to capture the "Sky on Fire" ... that pole and power lines are severely distracting, and - sorry - quite ugly, too. (Maybe I'm pampered by the fact that all our powerlines here are underground, apart from the large overland ones).

i live in the middle of houston...no outstanding vistas here...cept power lines or buildings

That's sad, but unfortunately that is also how I experienced Houston on the two occasions I was there (back in the nineties). A pity... Is any elevated standpoint for you there and accessible, maybe? For the next time the sun sets so nicely?
