People always think this place is always sunny since most of the most popular pictures are under blue skies, but the reality is different. It is one of the rainiest places on earth, with more than 7 meters of annual rainfall, so the odds are that you'll get a cloudy view, which by no means takes the beauty of the place away. And if you go during heavy falls you'll see more waterfalls in one place than all the waterfalls you've ever seen in your life.

Cool shot mate, looks like an adventure

7 meters!? Wow! Amazing place with amazing amounts of rainfall. Very moody and beautiful shot.

Milford Sound is probably my favorite location in the world, but as it's about as far away as you can go on the surface of the earth I'm unlikely to get back.
It was unusually dry whilst I was there so I got the blue sky shot, (one of the few I've uploaded to the gallery here) but the waterfalls were considerably reduced.

We did get rain by the time we got to the entrance of the sound but not enough to make much difference to the waterfalls, and the clouds were too low to give the lovely dramatic skies you've captured here.

That shot is amazing! The exposure brought out the clouds, absolutely NO overexposure! Teach me, master! lol

beautiful shot... gotta get to NZ soon

Yes you should.

I think this is a place you have to visit 3 times. One with sunshine, one with clouds and one during a heavy fall.

Well, let's say that Lightroom is all you need :p

Funny, I live 1 town away from the Milford sound... But it's not the same Milford sound... No way we have any rock faces like that here

Love the mood!
