Cobra- the flying kind

I'm scanning old slides and this is one I did today. It was taken off the northern coast of Australia in the Fall of 1975.

We were deployed from Hawaii for Exercise Kangaroo II (annual joint service/country wargames). I got stuck on the boat during the thing and never even hit the beach (well except for liberty in Brisbane later where I made up for lost time).

I only had about an hours worth of work every day so I amused my self by taking pics when anything interesting presented itself.

This bird had just taken off the flight deck and was just cruising by at about 20 mph and I went "click" and there it was.

This time? About 6 months.

I was into it pretty good for about 10 years and things sorta tapered off (to nothing) for about 10 years when the camera broke and the interests went elsewhere.

Now I'm getting back into it again and wondering why I ever stopped? :?

i understand, im torn between my car and my photography...but seeing as how im broke, taking pictures is more logical in my opinion.
