Utah juniper

The sky is dramatic, and so is this old tree!
Do we look down towards water or down onto even more clouds? (I would guess it is the latter, if so: how high up were you/is this juniper?)

nice and moody,I like this shot

nice perspective, i love these old junipers... this one is even more gnarly than these... [thread=52864]Swinging Tree[/thread] & [thread=29649]Attention Deprived[/thread]. nice sky too...

Thanks everyone.

The clouds on the lower half are actually the bottom of them. It had such a different look. It does look like fog on water. This is just inside the forest boundary next to Sedona, Az. About 4,500 ft. elev. The city of Sedona is in the mist dropping down from the cloud bank (about the bottom 1/2 inch of the photo). I took off early to take a photo of a formation called 'Coffee Pot Rock.' The sun didn't really come up, so I kept hiking up and sat where I took this shot from for a couple hours and ate some breakfast. I did get a few shots of the Coffee Pot in the haze. One even looks a bit like steam is coming from the spout. But I like this shot more.
