Fantastic Rosy! There is nothing that I do not love about #1!!!! As for where to crop #2, I would go with a bit below the bust line.

I would say just below the elbow on the left arm. (edited) And I agree with John, the first one is very nice.

I wouldn't have minded the light in #1 being a little bit higher to move the shadow of the nose, but other than that:

Well done. On #1, I'd darken the right side just a bit and maybe lighten the nose shadow a smidgeon ... but could also be my monitor. On #2 remember, as a general rule, not to crop at the ankles or wrists, that makes for an awkward image.

Here is the crop I was talking about. I used the as shot dimensions, but just moved the bottom right corner of the frame.

I thought the same thing as I was adding the photo to my post. Crop it at the cuff of that sleeve and the bright spot is removed from that area of the photo.
