I shot these today. First game of the year, pretty average.

The game was average, or the photos? I would personally say the photos are better than "average".

The team in white which I was covering won 10-0, so it was a bit of a blowout and a little easier to cover, most of the game play at my end of the field. Considering the amount of play in the end, not much really great happened, the photos are pretty much "standard" soccer photos. Thanks for the comment.

Would you mind sharing the tech info about these shots? Also, was it overcast outside or are these indoor shots?

I think #1 is fantastic. Overall these are great shots.

I find you rocked the action shots. Great moments, caught the ball, emotions...well done.

The images themselves seem a bit bland in terms of colour and contrast though.

Unfortunately the team I shoot for wears, white for most games and dark blue for the others, some of the visiting teams wear yellow or red, I'll post a few more images when I shoot the next games.

It was heavy overcast, I kept waiting for the rain, which held off until after the game. I shot between 800-1000iso, 5.6-6.3 and 640th-1000th sec. All with a 300 2.8, 1.4x and a 1D mkll. These were all shot through the goal net from behind the keeper.

Well done, but in some your horizons are tilted, and the images themselves seem quite bland. Very little color popping out of these images.

Heavy overcast day for the first four, white and blue uniforms don't offer up much colour. As for the horizons, a couple may be a tiny bit off, but when dealing with more than one straight horizon line I pick the most prominant. Could you tell me which ones have crooked horizon lines.

I think you nailed it. Colors are fine, no need for over processing, IMO.

I do very little post process work on my images, it's generally not required. I learned how to shoot long before computers/photoshop. Thanks for the positive comments.

The first two shots have crooked horizons. And just because it was cloudy doesn't mean the colors need to be muted as much as they appear to be here. Granted, don't oversaturate, but a little more color would make these shots pop a little more.

Yes they are off by a very small fraction. As far as the muted colours are concerned,they are a little flat, but..... white uniform and black uniform, where would you suggest I add colour, when there is no colour. I could have made them a little brighter, the skin tones are right, the whites are white and the blacks are black.

I agree. If the whites are white and the blacks black, the other colors are gonna be good as they get. I think you've done a good job here.
