Dear Radical,
the problem is this. You know what it was. So while you look at the image, your mind fills what the image does not show and you see every thing; but the viewer has nothing to fill, so he find something missing...

If you hadn't specified in the thread name, I wouldn't be able to recognize what that was, You should freeze the action, not make it motion blur!

The vertical is better, imo. Crop closer on the sides and top so the lights aren't lost in the frame.
