Number 3 is my favorite. I like the shadow on its face with the sunlight revealing a bit of those reflective colors on the feathers on its head. It's placed well, too. Number 4 shows that bit of yellow behind its eyes which is good.
The contrast in number 5 is pretty harsh. Here's an edit I did in photoshop. I used the Shadow/Highlight and Brightness/Contrast adjustments. What do you think?

Actually, I perfer the original. The "after" appears more washed out and lost a lot of the contrast. I spent a good while playing with them in NX and thought they balanced pretty well.
Oh and thanks, I like 3 a lot too, but 4 is probably my favorite of this bunch.
