colour reversal film and xrays

I'm going to hawaii in a few days and have a few rolls of fuji velvia 100F colour reversal film one roll of which is already in the camera and half used. Is it ok to take this through airport security? Also is it safe to take it out of the little plastic bags for inspection?

Low speed film (ISO 100) is generally not affected by airport x-ray. I have traveled with ISO 400 within the US without any noticable problems.

Just wasn't sure if negative and positive film behaved differently with x-rays.
