Colour vs B&W

I scanned this picture but since scanners in general suck, the colours are very faded (it's dark but colourful enough on the original):

yeah, in case you can't notice, there are colours in this one...so i decided to make it B&W - i didn't expect that to make much of a difference since it is almost grayscale as it is, but it actually did and i kind of like it:

unleash your criticism, please!

hmmm.... I like the coloured version, actually I prefer B&W cause IMO colour is often too direct, but that shot is nice, like the composition, it's full of melancholy and emotions, less is often more! go on.
