I was disappointed in the composition, but it was a good opportunity to experiment on technique. 30 second shots loaded as layers and blended.

I took shots sequentially and then loaded them in photoshop and stacked them. I selected auto-align images, and then set the blend mode to lighten. There were small gaps where the shutter was closed for a second or two between shots so I used the repair tool to fill in that space.

Here it is fading into the horizon. It grew dimmer and dimmer as it approached the horizon, then vanished.
