Hey Everyone,

I took this shot with my regular point and shoot yesterday...

What are your thoughts on the composition?
I'm feeling that her head should have been above the horizon line...
I thought to crop it, but then there would be cut off limbs...

Any thoughts on the comp and the picture itself?

I personally do not care for the comp. It's the back of a woman doing nothing out of the ordinary, just sitting on the beach in the tide. She's staring off into the ocean that really has nothing of interest either. I think maybe it could work if her face, or at least part, was visible and showed some emotion or clue to what was going on.

Why did you use a horizontal framing, instead of a vertical frame?

What does the negative space to the right of the woman do for the photo.

The composition is not bad, but not great either, and the subject matter is weak. We are hardwired as newborns for facial recognition, so seeing faces makes for a stronger photograph.

Thanks Malone... I can see how that work.

I used horizontal because I wanted to capture as much ocean as I could....

But your crop does the same thing... I was thinking about cropping it also, but I was going to do a horizontal crop... Thanks for the comments
