Was asked to help cover and event this weekend and at the end of the night, they had a band playing a concert.

This was my first time photographing a concert but have seen a number of videos of FroKnows Photo. I guess those videos actually hit home and I got a few good images.

My biggest lessons learned from this would have been to crank up the ISO more so that I could have a faster shutter speed. All of these images were with the 5D mk III and the sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 art lens. I probably could/should of used a wider aperture but was looking for as much DOF as I felt I could get.

Nice pics! You were at the what ____ Hut???

Thank you. We were at a private residence in the middle of Oklahoma with a white sands beach and that was their "hut / cabana". Yes, a VERY impressive place.

Very nice set! The first shot of the full band is definitely my favorite. I found Fro's advice on concert photography to be pretty helpful.

Thank you. I guess I have too because even never shooting a concert before, I just went into "the zone" and reacted and not thinking. Again, I just wished I would have had just a little bit faster shutter speed.

Well done Ron. I can see I need to elevate my circle of acquaintances. I'd be lucky to get invited to a concert with a couple banjos, and bonfire. LOL

Thank you. I have been fortunate this last year or so and got to do some really cool things. (I've been at plenty of those concerts, but I've typically had a mandolin in my hand trying to drown out the banjos, lol)
