Congressman and the mayor

This is a shot that I took (unfortunately without the flash as I felt using it would be kinda rude) of our U.S. Congressman speaking to people at an event while our city mayor prepares himself to help with the cleanup after the event while an attendee shows him something on his phone.

What can be gathered from this photo? Also, what's good and/or bad about it?

Need faster lens, higher ISO. But doesnt matter ... the content of this photo doesnt tell me anything. Look like a snap shot. If you want to be good in telling stories, put more thought into it and use wider lens.. like 24mm.

lighting on the subject way too dark... with all the religious paraphenalia and dark suits, it looks more like a church social than a political thing...

That's because the event was held at a church. LOL!
