Convict Cell

Hi, I'm new here, looking forward to being involved.

This pic was taken in Richmond, Tasmania (Australia) of a convict cell. It was very dimly lit and I just used the inbuilt flash of my Nikon F80. Film was Kodak T-Max 100 and I developed and printed it myself on Ilford Multigrade paper. It was scanned in via a cheap Canon scanner.
Looking for constructive evaluations and advice to help me improve.

Ive only been here a couple weeks too. Good bunch here - always willing to share their opinions. As for you pic... It missing too much information to do anything for me... Id like to see the whole room, or at least more of it to grasp what it is. Your print is great though. Good contrast, good focus. Awesome. I hope youve got more.

Might have be fun to experiment with some wider angle lenses. There ain't much in a convict's cell to create a great picture.

I think it's the textures that grab me first. That wall to the right is gorgeous. And b&w really suits the mood of this. Nice work!

im liking it! maybe the poster was emphasizing the confined space typically found in a cell. good job!

Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated.

I think it's confirmed my gut feelings with this one. I wanted to capture the texture on the wall but feel it's a little too tight.
This photo is 1 from 3 of a series of convict cells. The other 2 are not so tight. I'll post them up in the gallery once I have scanned them in.
