Photos NOT OK to edit
While I was down by the creek getting photos of the Coyote this Copper Hawk landed about 25 feet from me. I was surprised he sat their long enough to snap a few.
No flash used. Creek bed is muddy and loaded with Cypress Knees. That God its cold and the mosquitoes are gone:cool:

Great experience and I love that looking right at you shot! :)

Nice shots I like #3 also..... Exif says focus distance 29.9m.

Interesting. I look on the exif myself in cs5 and it says the same. I wonder if the 1.4x t.c.on my 400 f4 does something in the calcuation. I know what 25 feet looks like :lmao:

They all look a tad underexposed to me..maybe some post?

Great capture, though. I wish I could find some like this. Next time I run across $6k, I am most definately picking up a 200-400/4! Ive seen some amazing photos with that there lens.

Exellent shots indeed; a bit more brightness on bird alone would have enhanced( overall increase would brighten the back ground too much and would ruin our focus on bird-i feel)

Regards :D

Thanks for the comments. I was in total shade with minimal lighting and didn't want to use flash. I thought about brightening the bird but I personally preferred the look in it's natural state.
