We got some snow last night, so I took some pictures of my dog playing in it this afternoon. I missed the focus on almost every shot. :( Some of the blur was motion blur, so I sped up the shutter, but I still didn't get many that I liked. Any advice to improve would be much appreciated. I should be able to shoot again tomorrow. (He has to be on leash, so if it's distracting, it'll have to be taken out in PP.)

All shot at:
ISO: 100
Aperture: 4.0
Shutter: 1/500

i would bump the ISO and close down your aperture. i like a nice, bright image and if you're not using spot metering, you're probably underexposing because of the snow.

i love corgis. :)

I'll try that tomorrow. :) I haven't tried to do spot metering on him because he's always moving and it seemed like it would be too hard to catch him instead of the snow...

tell me about it! kids and dogs are so fast!!!

i was really afraid to bump my ISO, but i have found it's led to better exposed photos and less blur nearly always... it allows me to have a faster shutter speed with critters. :)
