The intersting aspect about your inversion is that it does not look like one!!! You did adjust the curves afterwards, didn't you? Nicely done. It simply does not look like a negative!!!

Lafoto--I simply reversed the B&W gradient layer of the above image and toned it a little. So it isn't a TRUE negative. Glad you liked 'em
