Cosplay Awesomeness

A good start to shooting cosplay, though I don't understand the "LOL" at the photographers bringing lighting gear. Some folks do Cosplay shooting for a living, and are very well connected because of it.

Example, a friend of mine: Martin Wong Photogrpahy

Martin Wong does great photography. A lot of those others don't.
It's not a start to shooting cosplay. I was more like hanging out with a couple of cosplayer friends and getting photos while I was there. I don't like the scrums and the crowds.
*LOL* because it's heavy and cumbersome. I had a 50mm and a 70-200 when I wanted to have photos that aren't just one big chromatic aberration.

Martin Wong must have used beauty disk or a large softbox. He got soft lighting and he shot in the evening or at night. Notice the subjects stand out than the backgrounds. I think any photographer can do that with right lighting equipment and right time of the day. Also, he must have processed some of the photos like crazy in photoshop
