Could It Be Better?

I was practicing on ambient lighting effects while taking some pictures of my 4 month old son. Im using a 300D & D80 as well. Please critique the shot and let me know if i achieved adequate results or if it could be better in any other way.

Please make sure you look up the Do's and Don't's of this particular forum (sticky in this forum's index), particularly this part

DO limit your upload to one shot per post, and keep the jpeg size to around 150 kb - avoid multiple images or linking to your web site to show a series. Such threads will be moved.

Then decide for one of these two you want critiqued and maybe post the other in People and Pets for some general critique and comments. You can still edit your own post.

The look on the child's face is adorable. You might find cropping out the adult's hand helps to give him some strength and independence in the pix. Its just a suggestion. Great shot nonetheless.

Thank you, i will crop it out and see how it looks. He was very interested in the camera, wanted to grab it the whole time.
On a side note, it seems to me the colors may be a tad on the washed out side, am i the only one or are they just fine?
