Courtship Male Cardinal Feeding Female

I've never seen this behaviour before, it was neat to watch!

I had to look it up but it appears that he was courting her, he sure does look smitten

I wish I had a better angle on them but I'll take what I got, such a neat moment.

What a great catch! His eyes are so wide, like he's thinking, "OMG! I think this is going to work!"

The way to my heart is through my stomach too.

Nice catch. I like watching the cardinals here but have never noticed this behavior before.

These are nice! We have a couple pairs of mated Cardinals that visit our feeder on a regular basis and share sunflower seeds with each other. The male cracks the shell and then gives the seed to the female just like when I open a jar and hand it back to my wife.
