Practicing for a shoot of a friend and her children for christmas photos tomorrow.

I used a Speedotron 405 pack with one head behind for rim lighting and one 202VF head in a Kacey beauty dish straight over top for the main light.

With two lights I couldn't get the lighting divided past being even power, so the back rim isn't as powerful as I like.

Hate me but I think it's a little too dark with too much shadows. U might argue. We may just have different styles.

The shadows on the eyes is intentional. I didn't take the time to hook the other power pack up and adjust the rim light. That would have shed enough light on the blade to make it stand out. I did crank up the shadows in post as well. Dark was entirely the point.

This is going to be the theme of Christmas photos with her kids?? Hah... awesome! Can't wait to see those! :lmao:

That's for my friends sister. Had another friend over tonight and used that excuse to do some photos.

Ohh I see. Yeah I like shadows just not too much shadows, well depends. But still cool. I like ur styles in some of the pix u do seeing your other work. U know what you're doing w/ lights more than I do for sure.

I masked the blade and brightened it. Does that get your approval? ;)

The blade is at the original level. The full sized 21mp file on a 30" monitor looks good. I'm sure it would look good hanging on a wall...none too creepy.
