Crazy Show -- The Unmarked Graves

This was so intense I actually got a little scared. The moshpit in this tiny 15x15 room had at least 30 drunken 22-year-old coeds literally flinging and shoving each other across the room and into the walls. One musician actually left because some of his gear got knocked over. I was standing on a chair with a $6000 camera rig and even found my own self -- completely sober -- screaming and shaking my fist in the air. The room was hot and sweaty and the floor was shaking +/- 2 in at least. It almost seems like there was no lyrics, almost not even any music, just the drums and bass pounding itself into your bones like heavyweight boxer punches. It was absolutely, just transcendentally ... primal. Like the pre-humans in 2001. Like lions fighting hyenas and ripping apart a wildebeest and roaring at the moon. Beer and booze and sweat was splattering itself everywhere in a fine mist. Hands-down the most insane thing I have ever done. Still a little shook up.

LOL ... like the stuff I used to take. Cramped quarters, terrible lighting ... and you accepted the challenge head-on. Well done.

Thanks! A couple of these I had the ISO cranked to like 25K ... I took one look at the room and thought yep ... Wide angle, slow shutter, high ISO ... I think I switched to the 50 mm at one point.

Had the flash for a couple of shots but I figured it would start giving folks a rash, so I went to ambient light. I think I had some shutter drag on some of these, which led to a good effect but it was just luck ... I wasn't thinking much beyond "HOLY SH-- I need to get this done and split before the place comes completely unglued"

Also learned (thankfully not the hard way) when shooting bands not to put the camera bag on the floor. That's where all the spilt beer goes
