Critique my photos!

Took some photos for a few friends at their flight school graduation with my D7000 and Nikkor 18-104. I would appreciate feedback on the shots! I also have color versions of the B&W photos if y'all would like to see those. Names blacked out as a professional courtesy, nothing secret squirrel going on.

On #1,3 and 4, your shutter speed isn't fast enough. You have motion blur. On #2, drastically underexposed. On all photos (and this is a personal taste), your depth of field isn't shallow enough to elicit emotion from the viewer. They're more of snapshots. I know a lot is happening during this time, but you have to think about your image. What are you saying to the viewer? How do you put them there? Think about those things when you're shooting next time. Also, pay attention to your meter. Good luck.

IMO #1 has some possibilities but the conversion isn't dramatic enough and the background isn't subdued enough (I think)

off topic:
MSC helicopter pilots have a lot of guts, flying unarmed ships into battles to pickup wounded.
I was in the O Club at Ft Meade, MD at lunch one day when a Brigadier General, who had won the Medal of Honor as a dustoff pilot, came into lunch for the first time at his assignment on post. Every single person in the hall stood, saluted and applauded for minutes.

Not to mention helicopters don't want to fly at all and, if left untended for an instant, will try to crash.

1 and 2 are ok, could be better, the other ones i think you missed the mark they have to much blur or heads popping up, just a note that i was told and i think helps, Thats always keep there nose within there face if you cant then your standing in the wrong place.
