Hey everyone, I'm new to the photography world, I just picked up an olympus e-500 dslr about a month ago and started to read up on photography and I'm trying to learn how to take better shots! here are a few pictures and any feedback is welcome!

Thanks,
Tavis

You should mirror the camera shots. First one's ok, the other two, not so much. Not a big fan of bathroom shots, especially when you're not hidden when you think you are.

The horizon is off on the long exposure/traffic shot. Kind of distracting with that leaning-ass pole there.

thanks for the comments. These shots were made pretty quickly especially the bathroom shots. I was reading about longer exposure and had the idea of doing this in a mirror and the only mirror in my house big enough was in the washroom.. i did find the towel in the back disturbing haha.

As for the horizon being off for the long exposure shot, I did not even realize that the ground was uneven! it was getting really cold out and it was one of the last shots i took. In these situations i suppose cropping it would be better?

Thanks KmH. I never thought about the rule of thirds here. Many things to consider when taking shots and I tend to remember some and others slip my mind. thanks for the constructive comments.

Diiirrrrtyyyy mirror... Blah.

Yes, the crooked horizon is distracting. 1st one isn't bad, but looks like a lil motion blur and I can't get past the mirror. KmH has awesome advice.

any tips on aperture, shutter speed, iso, dof, etc.?

Depends on what you're going for...

What are you going for?

Your long exposure seems to have developed a slight rash.

Wow, is Olympus known for having a extraordinary amount of hot pixels. They are eveywhere.
