Critique some of my pics

I'm just looking for some hints, tips and pointers at the moment as i'm a beginner to photography. So heres a few of what i consider to be my better shots.

I really LOVE the first one, the subject itself is so gorgeous.

I hate the second one - i think because of the cropping, the way the top is cut off and it's so tight around the bottom.

The third one is great because when you think about the ROT it makes the eyes very happy.

#1 - This may be a time to half the photo (instead of thirds), subject at top, reflection at bottom...or for a silly photo:

#2 Try another where the top isn't cropped...you'll need to pull way back from the looks of things

#3 This one I like...someone may comment the horizon is off a tad...but I think the bridge covers that up rather well...good job!

Thanks for the comments! The problem i had with the 2nd one was that the river was behind me and i couldn't go any further back. Maybe i should invest in a wider angled lens, more money!

Yes! the first shot got some empty white space, so with the cropping it got better, so better to concentrate on the reflection or i might say the ground when the sky isn't interesting..

your second shot, looks very interesting to look at, its just remind of a "worm whole" in science fiction

but i think it would be better to try another position for it to remove the other dark subjects in the ground... it maybe hard to do that but well, its an idea..

like best your third shots! i would just suggest to be more closer to remove the purple light in the left foreground, its somehow distracting...
