Critique wanted for my first Picture post!

I took this while i was shooting pics of my kids playing in the leaves. From a personal point of view i think the aperture is too big, f.4. The reason is that i had the shutter speed set fast to capture the kids, when they hid behind the tree i took this shot with the same settings. Any comments or edits most welcome.

I find the composition is good. I am not sure about the sun where it is as it is blowing out the detail in the leaves. You might have been better not to take the image when the sun was in that position. But that is just me.

I disagree. (MHO only) I think that the sun gives it some.... something. THe way the sun comes through is what makes it interesting.

I am not a big fan of the sun. I would have cropped it something like this maybe to leave the nice shadows but take away from the distracting hotness of the sun.

Thanks guys! I did purposely frame the sun but get what you're saying about it blowing out the detail. Something for me to bare in mind next time.

I am by no means an expert and I can't offer you an in-depth critique but I will comment and say its a nice photo and my eyes like the crop. Nice job! Theres a lesson in composition for me.
