Crows in Nepal

Had my car broken into last fall and my camera and computer were stolen ... I was in the process of moving so I had a lot of stuff in my car. Anyways, it's all replaced and I'm a little bit poorer but that's ok. Unfortunately I lost some things that I hadn't backed up yet. I have all the originals from my trip to Asia but I lost a lot of the editing that I did. It is pretty tedious going back and re-doing things I've already done but on the bright side I am able to do a better job of it this time around. Anyways, I was just working on this picture and felt like sharing!

Watch being too aggressive with the clarity slider or your sharpening. Starting to see significan haloes on the rock outcroppings. Interesting composition.

Thanks for the advice! I may have gone a little overboard trying to get more detail out of those clouds. I think I will go back to this one because I don't like it when things don't look believeable ...

ceeboy14, thanks again for your honest criticism. I feel like I have a better photo now and I've learned more about editing. The haloes came out a bit when I darkened the highlights (so the clouds weren't washed out) and I exaggerated it by sharpening too much. The original image was already pretty sharp so the amount of sharpening I did to it the first time around was unnecessary. Here's the rock outcrop at 100% in the original edit and then in the new edit I just did.

oops, now that I zoom out and look at it from afar I see that it is still brighter around the edges of the cliff than it should be...



I guess this less edited version is the one to go with even though there is less detail in the clouds, and I believe there is no sharpening added to it. Sorry for all the posting, I feel like I'm learning out loud here
