Did you make the photo?

The lighting and composition have some issues.
It would be nice if the birds eye had more light and if there was more room to the left. Centered and dimly lit main visual elements, like the bird's eye, often diminishes the drama, tension, and overall impact of an image

Welcome to the forum, always nice to have new folks on board. First, I doubt very much that this is a curlew. Curlews have a long beak, that curves downward and is often 4 to 6 inches long. Check this out - Curlew - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia . I am not sure what this is without seeing more of it.

The image itself appears to be sharp, although, as has been mentioned, it could be a bit brighter, particularly the eye. You might want to check out the rule of thirds regarding the placement of visual/compositional elements in an image. In this case it would have been better if you had placed the bird's head off-centre to the right so that it is looking into the picture, so to speak.
