When most people hear milkweed they typically think of Asclepias syriaca, the latex producing plant with a ball of purple flowers. It's a large genus that also includes some vines like the example below of Cynanchum laeve. Native to North America the milkweed, including these viny varieties, is the only plant that supports Monarch Butterfly larvae. So when your backyard fence gets overgrown with this plant, just enjoy it and wait till winter to pull it off.
