There was more meant to my answer other than that it is not shipping, yet. We also do not have any real world comparisons between the two.

One thing is for certain, though. Nikon did not just release a replacement for their most expensive camera at $4000 cheaper. We just don't know what compromises they made, yet.

Because the megapixels isn't the only thing that determines the cost of a camera.

Yeah but what is it better on the D3x than on the D800? I didn't read all, but I think the only thing I saw was 1 frame faster per sec?, on the D800 the ISO it's better, Video it's better, the Scene Recognition System with 91,000-pixel RGB sensor it's better, the EXPEED 3 image processing it's better. You tell me...
