Correct I pay import tax of 19% on 2800€ instead of VAT of 19% on 3200. Both of course deductible in my VAT returns. Did so with my D3, saved me 700€ in 2008 because the Euro had a higher exchange rate.

It's their first BSI sensor. It will be better in low light, higher dynamic range, and essentially is a "do it all camera". It also has focus peaking. Pretty darn impressive specs. So it looks like it will come in at $3850 with grip, battery, charger. That's a lot of cheddar but it is a lot of camera. Hopefully, they have no design, shutter, issues etc.

I do like the specs on it and have a friend that shoots Nikon that I told him that he should switch to it.

Who knows, maybe they'll have a deal on a "Conversion Special" package of D500 gripped and D850 gripped with 24-70 and 70-200 lens of around $10,000.

If I understand the fine print you need a D5 battery and charger, in the grip if you want to shoot at 9fps, wich will add another grand to the price

Well German is a very dry language.. it doesn't do sarcasm well from what I remember.

You could do the Nikon grip with third party battery and charger (en-el18a) for $500.

I use the AA holder in all my grips. Not sure if I need 9 fps? I will be ordering a grip. But not sure on en-el18a.
