D90 vs D300 vs D7000

I have a D90. Someone has offered me $900 for my D90 with my 18-55mm kit lense. I love my camera but I get really worried when i'm out and it's snowing/light rain but i want to snap pics. Just gets me really nervous. I think that is the only issue i have with the camera is build.

Now, I can sell it and get a used D300 (not even 1000 actuations) for $850 or I can get a used D7000 (5000 actuations) for $1100.

Any opinions?

Even if an upgrade was not in my plans, an offer like that for a D90 would put it there. Jump on it.

Sell it quick! D90 is going for $600ish now for the body. I see a D7000 in your future.

In Canada prices for the D90 are still pretty high. Anyway, a couple of things are keeping me from switching

1) Guy never got back to me lol
2) Haven't heard back from the guys with the used D300 and D7000
3) Don't want to put in $400 to upgrade to a new D7000 since they retail for $1250 + taxes here.
4) I need lighting way more than i need a new body

Yep sounds like guy offered before he actually found out what the D90 was going for.
And sounds like your need for lighting actually answer what to do. Keep the D90 and add lighting to your kit. As there will always be D300's around the corner for less than a $1000. Personally I am also wanting for a D300. As it is slow saving. But still have lens upgrade needs,tripod,flash first.

So the deal actually went through. I gave the guy the D90, 18-55mm kit lens, a spare camera bag and an 8gb card for $900. I then turned that around and picked up a used D7000 for $1050 (2000 actuations). The camera is spotless. I personally think I made the right decision.

Not to be a thread hijacker but can I ask why we are seeing lots of D90-D300-D7000 which should I buy threads. Is there a reason other than the D700 is a FX that it isn't in the list of upgrades?

I have a D90 which I love but plan on adding a D700 to my kit because I have played around with one and loved it and of its better low light capabilities and 51 focus points.

Cost would most likely be the biggest factor, that and not everyone needs/wants FX. D700 is almost twice the expsense of the D7000, and that's just the body. The high ISO ability is pretty close. In fact I've read of people selling D700's to get D7000's and are quite happy with the move.
