Dalr and required equipment ;

Good evening.

I am a new photographer. I bought my first dslr in 2011. Nikon d5100 with 18-55 vr.
I would like to khow what is the required equipment which must have someone to his bag ??

only what you need to get the shots you want. the rest is all fluff.

Required for what?

For sports I require a camera with an excellent focus system and a 70-200 f/2.8 lens with fast focus.

For weddings the minimum I require a full frame camera and a 70-200 f/2.8 with IS/VR/VC/OS, a Wide, f/2.8 zoom and a good flash unit. LOTS of batteries for the flash and a back up camera body. I prefer to have a bit more equipment than that, it sure makes the job easier.

For portraits I require a good camera body with a good, sharp lens. Depends on what kind of portrait which lens I choose, but my 70-200 is my #1 lens

For landscapes a good camera body with a nice wide zoom

For wildlife a good camera body with a mega telephoto and maybe even a teleconverter

Filters, spare battery, vertical grip, tripod, lens cleaning supplies and tools, hot shoe flash unit, user's manual, note pad, pen, small towel, .........
