Dance/Toe Photos in the City *pic heavy*

#6 nominated for POTM December, 2014.

Could any of these be shot better? Possibly, except for #6, IMO. This is one of those shots that kept me wanting to see over and over again. Here is a very good composition, with enough implied symmetry, but which is not slavishly followed. The model's pose is hinting at drama, and the one-flash light casting a shadow adds to that feeling. And of course the dichotomy of her dance costume working against the roughness of an urban loading dock.

Wow, thank you! This is my first nominated photo

7 and 9 for me I think. Very nice.

This is a great set! And they have all given you great C&C!!!
I have found that I really enjoy seeing ballet photos. :)

4 and 9 area really special. They just have that "it" quality, for me at least.

Dance is one of my favorite things to photograph - even if people aren't your thing, I'd say you did a great job. And you should do more :)

I actually really like #4, even with the flat/matte finish, but I'd try it in a B&W. There are some good shots in this set. But her fingernails kinda kill it for me. They're distracting. It must be just me. I'd try to de-sat them.

#1 would have cropped off either side
#2 would have the flowers in focus and removed the thing left of frame
#3 isn't flattering makes her look chunky
#4 love the pose, would have either processed all in this style or left it the same as the others, to keep the shoot consistent
#5 nice, but you can see the tension in her dace as she is trying to balance
#6 love the pose, the rollerdoor yellow distracts
#7 #8 you changed location, but these two I like more than #6
#9 don't care about the dumpsters but would have like more separation of her hair from the background
