Dang weather and the Super blood moon.

So this is for @tirediron. You said your images of the moon weren't that good. Well, I went with a couple of my photog buddies out to the country about an hour or so from home to a farm that one of them owned. It was cold and the darn clouds kept giving us fits and producing hazy images. (Okay so some of it may the the 1.4x TC that we were using too.)

So when you are cold and watching the eclipse and hoping the clouds will move before it starts, what do you do??

Well you build a fire to stay warm and since the flames were not hazy, you shoot them. Well that is what we did. Still have more to process but these were two of my favorites.

Fire and smoke is fascinating to me. Maybe it's because of being in the belly of the beast over the years and seeing how it behaves. There's a point where just before the super heated gases in a room flash over that the head of the dragon will emerge from the black smoke, taunting you. Its quite a sight.

It is something that I think the three of us want to do more of. We didn't have enough lighter fluid. I'm sure that we will do it again.

Instant milk, when properly, aerated produces some wild displays 40 to 50 foot in the air. Won't tell how we did it, but we used them for training exercises on the dangers of dust explosions.

Gee thanks @smoke665. Three fully grown men a few miles from the nearest town and fire truck, at night with this information AND camera's. What could possibly go wrong with 40-50 foot flames..... lol

That's why I left out the instructions. LOL The new cars with all the magnesium and aluminum components are extremely dangerous fires. Some of those demonstrations using thermite were realistically scary but it made an impression a rookie remembered. Another TPF member, I think it was Destin did some excellent shots using steel wool.

Off and on, close to 25 years as a VFFR. Age and respiratory problems took it's toll.
