I think 8 is wonderful. Could you crop the tag out above her head?
Your B&W is kinda grey though, maybe play with contast and curves. A few seem a bit out of focus.
Good first go though and what a cutie!

Thank you. I think my biggest problem was the shutter speed. I had it set to 1/125 but I think I should have brought that up a bit.

Good idea especially with little ones. What were your settings?

1/125, f5.0 ~ 5.6, ISO 100, AF on

Aah...that aperture is whats killin ya then. If you could open up more you could pump up that shutter speed. And as daunting as it may seem try playing with your manual focus. I love the results I am getting since I recently switched to manual.

I wonder how much lower I can go? Just checked, I can go to 3.5.
