Was at an event last night and intended to drive the full 300 miles to the Lake District, due to arrive at 330am. Got a third of the way through, and felt tired, so got in the back of the car and had a few hours sleep. Am glad that I did, as not only did that mean that I didn't crash, but also meant that I arrived at the edge of the Lake District just before sunrise. Noticing the colour in the sky, I pulled in to a lay-by and got my cameras out.

Beautiful series. All are very nice except #1, the tree prominent in the middle bugs.

I'l admit that bugged me too, but kept it because of the light. By the time I found a lane with a clear view the light had changed.

If I ever got a set of photos as good as this from a day or two, I'd think seriously of giving up landscape photography and coasting on my portfolio the rest of my life.
