I think the birds (ducks? geese? gulls?) really make this. I mean, it would have been good without the birds because that's a beautiful sky there, but I think the birds elevate the image to something other than "just" a sunset picture.

Thanks for the kind comments. They are indeed ducks. For me it was about the lead duck looking back at the rest as if to yell at them for not being in even rows. The sunset was almost anti-climactic - but not so much as to not shamelessly use these little guys to provide a nice counter balancing V-shape with the setting sun nicely wedged between the two anchoring points.
