What's new

Decisions...

I have one and I have a diffuser for it... I mentioned it in the first post and even provided a link to the diffuser that I have...

I don't like the look of bare flash on a child and even with the diffuser and my flash on it's lowest power it still looks pretty bad... I am going to buy some reflectors as that has already been suggested...

Now I'm at the part where I'm trying to figure out why I can't get the eyes in my pictures to look as good as others.

If it is just a matter of doing something in photoshop, what is it?!? I've used the Iris Enhancement brush in LR3 but it still doesn't look as good as I want it too. I've tried masking sharpness around the eyes, still doesn't help a lot... Every time someone replies with a different question or something it completely throws me off and I end up with more questions... I need to get my brain organized... lol

In Lightroom you can whiten eyes and use the iris brush then in Photoshop or PSE which ever your using do the eye masking and it really works. Sometimes I am lazy and I apply the sharpening in LR3 when I do the iris brush; but it always looks best if done in Photoshop.

I will see what I can do when I get home..

Someone had posted some coffee shop actions too. I have tried them before but it was before I had the experience that I have now... Maybe I'll try them again too and see what happens...

Gaining an understanding of how to use supplimentlal lighting is essential to learning how to use available light effectively.

The lighting types: broad, short, chiaroscuro, Rembrandt,, split, butterfly, etc. are still used when available light is one of the light sources used.
